DESPITE calling quits on his career at just 21 years old, one former footballer still manages to earn the big bucks.
Mario Mosbock has turned to professional poker to make his money nowadays and it’s safe to say he made the right decision.
The Austrian, who is now 27, spent four years playing for SKN St. Polten’s reserve and first team between 2014 and 2017.
He made 20 appearances for the Austrian second division outfit, scoring one goal and registering one assist.
Mosbock then moved to Wiener Neustadter Sportclub in 2017 where he featured just twice before deciding to hang up his boots.
Speaking to Poker Code, he explained his decision to retire at just 21.

He said: “I stopped enjoying daily training and no longer felt that football is what I want to do.
“I increasingly asked myself: ‘Is this exactly what you want to devote the next 15 years to?’
“I could extend the contract with the Austrian Bundesliga club, there was also the option to try my hand at a stronger league.
“But I doubted that even this would bring back my love for football. To sort out my feelings I decided to give up football altogether for a while and see how much I would miss it.

“Since then, I have not regretted my decision for a second and even now I am sure that I did everything right.”
It’s no surprise that Mosbock has no regrets with the ex-pro pocketing over £1MILLION from online poker since retiring.
Most recently he was victorious in an online tournament which saw him pocket an eye-watering £220,000.
But it’s nothing new to the former striker who actually began playing poker at just 12 years old.
In fact by the time he was 14 he had already won £23,000 from the high stakes card game.
