FANS have told of their shock after a football club was served an eviction notice at a UK stadium.
Nuneaton Borough FC were forced to move a match last night at the last minute due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
Now it has been revealed that an eviction notice was yesterday placed on the gates of the ground in Liberty Way, Warwickshire, reports Coventry Telegraph.
The letter, from Shergroup enforcement, states: “The landlord of these premises hereby gives you notice that he has re-entered this property on 24 October 2023 at 06.00am under the terms of your lease and has taken back possession of them.”
It says the club must make contact with an assigned person “in connection with gaining entry to remove goods from these premises”.
It continues: “IMPORTANT: You cannot lawfully enter these premises. Any damage caused to these premises will be dealt with as criminal damage.”

The club last night informed fans just two hours before the team was due to play against Bromsgrove that the match would take place in Hinckley.
One person wrote on social media: “Not looking good for them, they have been served an eviction notice and had to move their game last night at the last minute to Hinckley.”
Another said: “It’s a shame for the good people that go and support their local team.”

“Last night’s match was played at Hinckley LC!!”
The men’s first team competes in the Southern League Premier Division Central, the seventh tier of English football.
The grounds are open by a third party group, steered by Neil Robinson, a former Nuneaton Rugby player.
The club has previously been in trouble financially.
In 2019 it was revealed that the club owed thousands to HMRC and an appeal was launched to save the club.
The Sun has contacted the club for comment.
