TOTTENHAM fans are gushing over Djed Spence following his debut for Rennes.
The right-back signed for the French club on loan for the rest of the season to improve his game-time after a frustrating first six months in North London.
And he was thrown straight into the action on Saturday as he started their Ligue 1 clash against Lille.
Spence lined up alongside Spurs loanee Joe Rodon, who’s also spending the season in France, and wore the No.90 shirt for the first time.
Ultimately, it proved a disappointing night for Rennes as they squandered a 1-0 lead to lose 3-1 with their top four hopes suffering a major blow.
But Tottenham fans who tuned in to watch Spence were left delighted by what they saw with the 22-year-old going close to scoring and assisting.

A third responded: “Blows my mind he’s on loan.”
A fourth chimed in with: “Very good performance. Amazing really considering he hadn’t really played for months.”

Another said: “This guy was ready all along 🥲 we just didn’t give him a chance.”
A sixth person even compared him to an ex-Tottenham full-back.
He said: “Djed Spence resembles Kyle Walker more than any other full-back that Spurs have signed since his departure.
“Pure acceleration to beat his man, and equally at ease coming infield. No surprise he had plenty of interest in the January window.”
Rennes’ next game is against Toulouse on Sunday, while Spence could also get his first proper taste of European football on Thursday week when they travel to Shakhtar Donetsk for their Europa League play-off.
