HUGO LLORIS has become a “liability”, claims pundit Chris Sutton.

The Tottenham goalkeeper endured another torrid afternoon yesterday, scoring a horror own goal to gift Arsenal a 1-0 lead in the North London derby after just 14 minutes.

Writing in his Mail column, Sutton blasted: “There can be no disputing Lloris has been a brilliant goalkeeper and there is a real pressure that comes with being the person between the sticks.

“But there can also be no denying he has turned into a liability.

“The rap sheet is so long that you can go on YouTube and find a video called ‘Hugo Lloris worst mistakes’, and then you can watch ‘Part Two’.

“This history of howlers is why, when he bundled Bukayo Saka’s cross into his own goal yesterday, it was not surprising. It was completely in character.”

Lloris, 36, has now made four errors leading to goals in the Prem this season – double the tally of the league’s next worst offender.

He dropped a clanger in Spurs’ last defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates in September, when he gifted Gabriel Jesus a goal.

The Frenchman also made a costly error against Newcastle after flying off his line only for Callum Wilson to score, while he spilled Douglas Luiz’s shot straight to Emi Buendia during the recent defeat to Aston Villa.

Lloris, a 145-cap France World Cup winner, has been a phenomenal servant to Spurs – making 440 appearances since joining in 2012, the majority of which have come as club captain.

But the social media consensus seems to be that his time at the top is coming to an end.

One fan account wrote: “It’s time to drop Lloris, we can’t go on like this.

“If he was good in build-up you might offer him some leeway but he’s f***ing terrible.”

A second fumed: “How many times Lloris, honestly how many times.”

Another added: “Been watching stuff like that from Lloris for the best part of three years.”

After his recent international retirement, one fan fumed: “Lloris you can retire from all football now.”
