MANCHESTER UNITED fans have called on the club to re-sign Angel Gomes following his impressive performances for England Under-21s.
The youngster starred in the Three Lions’ 1-0 win over Portugal on Sunday.
He impressed fans with his performance and shocked with his ability to play a holding midfield role, having been a winger during his time at United.
Gomes also performed well in England U21s’ victories against the Czech Republic and Israel in the group stage.
His form has sparked a reaction from United fans who have called on the club to bring Gomes back to Old Trafford.
One fan said: “LOOOOL Only Man Utd can give Scott McTominay years and years but other talented midfielders don’t get a look in.

“If Manchester United have a buy-back clause he would definitely solve some of their problems.”
United do not possess a buy-back clause as Gomes departed on a free transfer in 2020 after failing to agree a new contract.
Gomes joined Lille and has since made 69 appearances for the club, and explained he left to get out of his comfort zone.
He said: “I don’t think the opportunity came too quickly at Manchester United.
“Things come when you deserve them. I achieved good things when I was at Manchester United, which I will remember all my life.
“I don’t think it was rushed, but sometimes there are decisions to be made and you have to know how to get out of your comfort zone.”
