Graham Potter ‘retains Chelsea support’ despite nightmare run but faces ‘big test’ in next five games

CHELSEA boss Graham Potter reportedly retains the backing of the Stamford Bridge hierarchy.

That’s despite the Blues winning one of their last nine Premier League games and crashing out of the FA Cup on Sunday.

Some fans are already calling for Potter to be sacked, while club legend Frank Leboeuf also reckons the time has come for a change.

Potter was only appointed by owner Todd Boehly in September following the surprise decision to axe Thomas Tuchel.

There is not claimed to be any current desire to make changes – despite Potter’s horror run.

The Englishman is still viewed as the long-term replacement for Tuchel.

However, the next five fixtures are set to be a huge test for the former Brighton gaffer.

Chelsea face four London derbies in the next month, as well as a meeting with Liverpool.

Next up for Potter and Co is a tricky Thursday night trip to local rivals Fulham, who are above them in the table.

The Blues then host Crystal Palace before a lunchtime trip to Anfield six days later.

Another evening game against Fulham comes next, followed by a hope across the capital to take on West Ham.

The tough games don’t stop there either.

A trip to Borussia Dortmund for the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie comes after the meeting with the Hammers.

And Potter could find himself in trouble if results don’t improve in that period.
