THE Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Pérez appeared to be half-empty as Mason Greenwood made his Getafe debut on Sunday.
Greenwood, 21, joined the Spanish side on loan from Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
He was named on the bench for the first time ahead of the club’s La Liga clash with Osasuna and made his debut appearance in the 77th minute.
However, few people were in attendance to watch him play his first game in 20 months.
Only a fraction of the 16,500-seater stadium, which has an average attendance of around 12,000, was occupied by fans as Getafe clinched a 3-2 win, with the late winner coming from a corner that Greenwood won.
He was cheered by the home fans as he made his bow, but Osasuna fans were chanting “Greenwood die”, according to journalist Guillermo Rai.

Stefan Mitrovic opened the scoring in the 36th minute before Iker Munoz equalised on the brink of half time.
Getafe then took the lead again thanks to a second-half strike from Jose Angel Carmona, but Ante Budimir levelled again just six minutes later.
Greenwood was introduced with 13 minutes left to play and made an impact on the game, winning the corner that led to the winning goal from Nemanja Maksimovic.
Greenwood was suspended by Man Utd after he was arrested in 2022.

He was then charged with a string of offences including attempted rape.
However, the CPS then dropped the charges in February this year.
Man Utd confirmed last month that that Greenwood would not be returning to the first-team fold under Erik ten Hag.
However, the Red Devils did not terminate his £75,000-per-week contract at Old Trafford.
