Feyenoord assistant grabs microphone and tells fans ‘use your brain Goddamnit!’ as they disrupt Ajax derby


FEYENOORD assistant John de Wolf grabbed the microphone and yelled at fans after their derby versus Ajax was disrupted due to crowd trouble.

The Dutch Cup semi-final ended in a 2-1 win for the Amsterdam-based side although the game was marred by despicable scenes.

The match was halted twice, firstly when Feyenoord fans set off loads of flares that led to the air being filled with smoke.

Then Ajax star Davy Klaassen was hit on the head by an object thrown by the home supporters soon after.

As the crowd spiralled out of control, coach De Wolf furiously demanded that those in the stands behave.

He shouted: “Fans, at that side, use your brain God damnit.

“Make sure nothing is being thrown on the pitch again.”

De Wolf, 60, played 111 times for Feyenoord during his playing career and had a spell at Wolves between 1994 and 1996.

Fans have praised Arne Slot’s assistant, one said: “I’d follow him into war.”

Another reacted: “Legendary.”

A third added: “What a man.”

When the game eventually did get underway without stoppages, Dusan Tadic broke the deadlock to put his team ahead.

Santiago Gimenez then levelled for Feyenoord before Klaassen got his revenge by scoring the winner for Ajax.

They will play PSV Eindhoven in the KNVB Cup final on April 30.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord sit eight points clear of Ajax at the top of the Eredivisie table.
