FOOTBALL fans have slammed Nottingham Forest’s new sign at the Trent End of the City Ground as they joked “it’ll look nice when it’s finished”.
The Tricky Trees have taken down the original crest which could be seen on the side of the stand.
But the replacement sign is not quite as big and, as a result, the previous brackets are visible on either side.
And the switch has left many football supporters on social media dumbfounded by the disappointing change – with one describing it with ‘sickness’ emojis.
One said: “It’ll look nice when it’s finished.”
Another added: “Love the badge and the addition of the wording and stars but anyone can see how awful that looks finish wise. The stand needs cleaning/refinishing for the true impact.”

A third replied: “I’m a sign fitter 🧐🤢🤮 I’d at least scrub the hell out that cladding as a minimum to remove the ghosting from the old sign .. that’s poor fitting that.”
While fourth responded: “Just shows how run down the ground is.”
And a fifth said: “Need to clean marks of the old sign. Will look right botch job if they don’t.”
Forest have played at the City Ground since it was first opened in 1898.

In 2022, manager Steve Cooper led the club back to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.
And they avoided relegation last season, sealing a 16th place finish at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
Cooper’s men have started the new season with two wins and two defeats from four games.
They host newly-promoted Burnley at the City Ground on Monday evening.
