Fans spot shocking Sky Sports blunder on live TV as they announce Jarrod Bowen has signed seven-year deal with MAN UTD

SKY SPORTS suffered a hilarious blunder as they announced West Ham star Jarrod Bowen signed a contract extension with MANCHESTER UNITED.

Bowen has stood out for the Hammers this season with a staggering five goals and two assists in eight appearances across all competitions.

And the East Londoners have rewarded the winger with a new seven-year contract tying him up to the London Stadium until 2030.

Sky Sports got so eager to announce the new long-term deal that they misspelled the England international’s forename on Twitter.

The channel tweeted: “BREAKING: Jarred [sic] Bowen has signed a new seven-year deal with West Ham United, Sky Sports news understands.”

And then presenter Vicky Gomersall suffered an unfortunate slip of the tongue as she announced the 26-year-old had instead signed a new deal with United instead of West Ham.

Gomersall said: “Just a little bit of breaking news, we’ll get reaction to this later on in the show.

“Jarrod Bowen has agreed a new long-term contract with Manchester United, so breaking news for them.

“A formal announcement expected in the next 24 to 48 hours, so it’s understood the deal will take him up to 2030.

“As I said we will have more on that a little bit later on the show.”

Sky Sports went on to share the clip on social media as they missed Gomersall’s unfortunate error.

But the popular broadcaster proved to be a good sport about it as she retweeted the clip with a funny apology.

Gomersall posted: “I think aliens entered my brain. Apologies WEST HAM. I repeat WEST HAM.”
