FANS have been left “questioning their eyes” after Ed Sheeran was mistaken for a pop rival.
The British singer was in attendance for the East Anglian derby, supporting his beloved Ipswich Town against Norwich.
Sheeran, 32, was in the stands as cameras panned to him singing the Beetle’s track Hey Jude before the match.
Football commentator Nigel Adderley wanted to add some context for viewers but might need to sharpen up on his pop music knowledge.
The commentator accidentally mistook Sheeran for his pop rival Olly Murs.
He said: “And the singer, Olly Murs, a passionate Ipswich Town fan is here to watch his team here today.”

A fourth said: “I thought I’m the only one who heard that.”
Another added: “Commentator has 90 minutes to panic about this.”
Sheeran would have been left frustrated at full-time as the Tractor Boys were held to a 2-2 draw despite dominating much of the match.
Before the game Norwich owner Delia Smith was left shaken after yobs threw cans at her car.
