Fans go wild for Daniel Sturridge for ‘exposing’ pundits with incredible analysis of Brentford star

FOOTBALL fans hailed Daniel Sturridge’s punditry after his analysis of Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo.

Former England striker Sturridge, 33, was a part of Sky Sports’ Super Sunday coverage alongside presenter Dave Jones, Roy Keane and Micah Richards.

And he gave an interesting insight into The Bees’ forward line when they discussed how Thomas Frank’s side will line up without Ivan Toney – who is suspended until January.

He said: “For Wissa, around the box he’s very, very good. His finishing is very, very good.

“He’s a very different type of player. Ivan Toney’s hold-up play is paramount, that’s what he’s known for.

“Also, Mbeumo. He is very dynamic, he’s very aggressive in attack, very skilful. Prone to making defenders do the stanky leg. I don’t know if you know what that is?”

When Richards then asked what that is, Sturridge replied: “You know what it is. It’s putting your leg out and not being able to get the ball, basically. The stanky leg.

“For me, he [Mbeumo] is going to be a big threat for them.

“It’s vitally important for him to be the main man now and take that onus upon himself to say ‘I’m going to make things happen’ because when you lose a player like Toney, someone else has to step and take the load and I think Mbeumo needs to do that.”

Viewers praised Sturridge’s detailed analysis and took to social media to applaud the ex-Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool man.

One said: “Jesus. Daniel Sturridge’s expert analysis. This is what we are paying our fees for now.

“Don’t get the obsession with trying to go viral, and the switch to get Love Island and Youtubers either. Roy Keane’s face says it all.”

Another added: “This is why Daniel Sturridge is the best pundit to ever grace football.”

A third replied: “Great pundit, you’ve finally brought in someone good.”

And a fourth responded: “Daniel Sturridge is going to expose Micah Richards terrible punditry very quickly this season 😂.”

Sturridge has not retired from football but has been without a club since leaving Perth Glory in June 2022.
