DIEGO COSTA was carried off in agony against Tottenham with what looked a serious injury.
Wolves’ ex-Chelsea striker was replaced by Raul Jimenez after 28 minutes after landing awkwardly under no pressure from a Spurs player.
Fans feared a long lay-off after seeing former Spain star Costa wince during treatment and then clutch his head as he went off on a stretcher.
The 34-year has suffered bad knee injuries in the past.
But some supporters on social media lacked sympathy for the controversial hardman.
Others, though, reacted anxiously to the pain he appeared to be in as he was crocked in Saturday’s Premier League clash without any obvious firm contact.

One posted: “Looks like a serious knee injury. We might have seen Costa in a Wolves shirt for the final time.”
And when another suggested it could be an ACL injury, it met with the response: “That or Achilles… looked like a non-contact.”
Costa joined Wolves from Atletico Mineiro last September until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, mid-table Wolves frustrated Spurs for long periods.
