The Times has revealed that the 23-year-old used a points system to determine his new club when he decided to leave Borussia Dortmund.

There was an array of different clubs interested in the goalscorer including European giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Haaland and his team, which consisted of his father and then agent Mino Raiola, supposedly ranked each team out of ten based on several different categories.

The categories reportedly included competitiveness, stadium capacity and the club’s need for a striker.

Man City’s need for a number nine is what made them so attractive to Haaland, scoring a 10/10 in that category.

In comparison Real Madrid are reported to have scored just 5/10 due to the presence of Karim Benzema.
