ELEVEN football fans were injured after fireworks were allegedly set off in the stands during a game between Augsburg and Hoffenheim.
The incident occurred in the 57th minute of the Bundesliga clash on Saturday afternoon.
According to local police, a firecracker was lit in the away end of Augsburg’s WWK Arena.
A loud bang was reportedly heard throughout the stadium, with numerous people injured when the explosion went off.
The game was suspended while emergency services attended to the incident.
The police immediately began an investigation into the matter.

Two suspects were identified during the game – which ended in a 1-1 draw.
And the authorities have since confirmed that the two men were arrested mid-match.
They are now in police custody.
Former Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst opened the scoring in the 23rd minute for Hoffenheim.

But hosts Augsburg levelled eight minutes into the second half through Ermedin Demirovic.
The result leaves Hoffenheim sixth in the Bundesliga table, two points adrift of the top four.
Augsburg sit 10th following a four-game unbeaten run.
