DIOGO DALOT has revealed what David De Gea told him at half-time following the keeper’s howler in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Everton on Friday night.
Antony gave Manchester United a fourth-minute lead in their FA Cup third-round tie against the Toffees at Old Trafford.
But before the quarter of an hour mark the visitors had drawn level in bizarre circumstances.
Neal Maupay pulled the ball back from the byline and it somehow squirmed in between De Gea’s legs at the near post, before Conor Coady poked home from close range.
And while Man Utd did go on to win the game, Dalot, who was beaten to the loose ball by Coady after De Gea’s error, was happy to confirm the conversation he had with the Spaniard at the break.
He told beIN Sports: “I spoke to David at half-time and he was not expecting the ball to go through his legs, even I was not expecting the ball to go through his legs.

“So I will take responsibility. I could have reacted a little bit quicker.
“Credit also to the Everton player who reacted quicker than me.
“I think it’s just things for us to learn, luckily we won with merit and we fight to score one more goal and I think we deserved to go through.”
Club legend Roy Keane was scathing in his opinion of De Gea’s mistake.

He said: “A shocking mistake from an international goalkeeper. It’s like Carry On football. It looks like he’s had a few drinks.
“It’s like the keeper’s been sent off and an outfield player has gone in goal.”
Man Utd did recover after the break as Marcus Rashford forced an own goal from Coady.
And Rashford then bagged his 13th Red Devils goal of the season with a late penalty.
Erik ten Hag’s men have now won seven games in a row in all competitions.
Next up is a Carabao Cup quarter-final at home to Charlton on Tuesday, before they host rivals Manchester City on January 14.
