DAVID DE GEA told Bruno Fernandes “you’re not the right captain” after the midfielder scored Manchester United’s winner against Fulham.
Fernandes has been criticised for his leadership skills, after the Red Devils suffered back-to-back 3-0 home defeats against Manchester City and Newcastle.
But, Erik ten Hag’s side returned to winning ways by beating Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage.
The Portuguese skipper was the hero, coming up with the winner in added time.
After the game, pal David De Gea, seemingly being sarcastic, gave his view on the United captaincy debate.
Fernandes uploaded a snap on Instagram of the image of him celebrating his late goal.

He captioned the photo: “United” – adding a heart emoji to his note.
In the comments section, fans couldn’t help but notice De Gea’s message.
He wrote: “You are not the right captain,” adding a zipped mouth emoji.
However, it was clearly De Gea poking fun at Fernandes’ critics, with the pair being close friends and seen out having a coffee in Manchester last week together.

Last week, after Unietd lost the Manchester derby, both Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane were scathing of the midfielder.
Carragher said: “Bruno Fernandes should be not be a captain, we’re sat with two [former] Manchester United captains (Keane and Gary Neville).”
Keane, 52, then offered his own analysis on the matter, saying: “After today and having watched him again I would definitely take the captaincy off him. 100 per cent.
“I know it’s a big decision, obviously he changed the captaincy with [Harry] Maguire, but Fernandes is not captain material.”
Keane continued: “I think he’s a talented player no doubt about it.
“But what I saw from him today; his whinging, his moaning, he’s throwing his arms up in the air constantly, it really isn’t acceptable.
“And what we saw today, I would take it off him.
“We’re talking about making changes, you have to start somewhere whether it’s board level, managers, I would start with that because the manager is capable of doing that and holding his hands up and saying ‘listen I got it wrong’.
“In terms of captain material, he’s the opposite to what I would want in a captain.”
