DAVID DE GEA could reunite with former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho at Roma, reports claim.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper is out of contract at the end of the season.
And Serie A side Roma are open to signing De Gea, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
De Gea agreed a mammoth £375,000-a-week salary in September 2019, but given his age he is open to accepting reduced terms to stay at United.
However, The Athletic claim the club’s opening proposal has been rejected by the stopper.
It’s said the Red Devils are expecting to wrap up a deal, but reports in Spain claim Roma are waiting to pounce.

Mourinho has experience working with De Gea following his two-and-a-half year spell as Old Trafford boss.
The pair won the League Cup and Europa League together in 2017.
And Mourinho is not said to be convinced by his goalkeeping options in the Italian capital.
Former Wolves star Rui Patricio, 35, is Mourinho’s current No1.

Roma are said to be assessing the possibility of a deal, which would require a “significant financial effort” from the Serie A side.
Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also rumoured to be interested in De Gea.
De Gea has played 530 games for the Red Devils since joining from Atletico Madrid in July 2011.
The Spaniard has been superb once again between the sticks this season, sparing United from a heavier defeat in Sunday’s 2-0 loss at Newcastle.
