Doucoure went down after kicking the ball and was left writhing in pain at Kenilworth Road.

As he was stretchered off he had his head in his hands as he appeared in huge discomfort.

He was replaced by Will Hughes, who was greeted with boos by the Luton crowd for his links to Watford.

And Palace fans were less than impressed with many calling for the season to be over, especially with their side losing 2-1.

One posted: “The Doucoure one is the most worrying, nobody near him and a scream of pain. No obvious twist of anything. Sigh. Hughes on.”

A second wrote: “Eze now Doucoure Jesus Christ… Just end the season now.”

A third commented: “Doucoure and Ebs both injured, we’re done for.”

A fourth said: “Cheick Doucoure is now also down injured…. What is going on…”

A fifth added: “Eze & Doucoure injured all within 5mins of the second half Crystal Palace Football Club. Fml.”

Meanwhile, Eze was taken off just moments earlier after picking up a knock.

He was able to walk off the pitch.

Palace will now be concerned about the lengths of the two midfielder’s injuries.

Both players are vital to the club’s success on the pitch with Eze providing attacking creativity and Doucoure shielding the defence.

Doucoure was later seen leaving the stadium on crutches and wearing a protective boot.
