CRISTIANO RONALDO sold the 2013 Ballon d’Or trophy to charity for £540,000, it has been revealed.
The award for the world’s greatest player was bought by Idan Ofer, who is Israel’s richest man and worth £8billion.
According to Marca, Ofer purchased the trophy at a charity event in London back in 2017.
The sum went towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation for kids with Ronaldo personally asking for the golden gong to be auctioned.
He wasn’t in attendance at the event so agent Jorge Mendes handed out the accolade.
It was the second of five times Ronaldo won football’s top individual prize with the most recent coming in 2017.
