An All-Star team composed of players from Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal took on Paris Saint-Germain in Riyadh.

The occasion marked Ronaldo’s landmark appearance, but it was initially old foe Lionel Messi that once again grabbed his limelight.

It took the World Cup-winning Argentine just three minutes to open the scoring.

But Ronaldo, 37, did manage to equalise from the penalty spot after being clattered by Keylor Navas.

The Costa Rican keeper, who has been linked with Al-Nassr, attempted to come and claim a set piece.

Both Navas and Ronaldo missed the ball, however, with the PSG ace inadvertently catching the former Manchester United striker.

The referee pointed to the spot, with Ronaldo dusting himself down to convert from 12 yards.

After the incident, a bruise quickly formed on the veteran’s cheek.

And Mbappe came over to check on him, having idolised the five-time Ballon d’Or winner as a kid.

Marquinhos, Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos scored either side of half time to put PSG 3-2 up, before Jang Hyun-soo pulled another back for the Saudi All-Stars.

Mbappe, 24, scored from the penalty spot on the hour mark, before he, Ronaldo and Messi were substituted.

Hugo Ekitike added a fifth for PSG, before Talisca grabbed a consolation in stoppage time – with the French champions running out 5-4 winners.

Despite his side losing, a mystified looking Ronaldo was awarded the man of the match award.
