Ricky Hatton has named Ronaldo as his ultimate celebrity boxing opponent.

The former world champion, who is a devoted Manchester City fan, has set his sights on the veteran forward.

“He used to play for Manchester United,” Hatton told Mighty Tips, via iFL TV.

“United fans love him and he’s good looking so why would you not want to give him a slap?”

Hatton is a former light-welterweight and welterweight world champion.

After his final professional fight in 2012, the Hitman had a record of 45 wins and three losses with 32 of those victories coming via knockout.

He did return to the ring last November, though, for an exhibition bout against Marco Antonio Barrera in Manchester.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has dipped his toe into the boxing world this month.

The 38-year-old appeared in a promotional video for the upcoming fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou.

Ronaldo put his acting skills to the test in a cameo ahead of the bout on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.

He has no plans to retire from football anytime soon, though, with reports claiming he wants to play at the 2026 World Cup.

Despite the fact he will be 41 by the time the tournament starts, he is said to have told both Al-Nassr and Portugal his plans.

Ronaldo is currently contracted to the Saudi Pro League side until the summer of 2025.
