Diogo Jota’s stoppage-time winner handed the Reds all three points, just seconds after they had their 3-0 lead wiped out.

But there were still several negatives for Klopp to mull over in the wake of the win.

And one of those was the mistake by centre-back Van Dijk, 31, for Tottenham’s opening goal.

Ivan Perisic was found on the left channel and as he shaped to take on the Dutchman, Van Dijk fell over in comical fashion.

Perisic then crossed to Harry Kane who fired home.

And one Arabic commentator harshly ripped into the Netherlands international following the error.

He could be heard saying: “Virgil van Maguire.”

The comment was in reference to the poor form of Manchester Utd captain Maguire, 30.

And Red Devils fans felt their skipper had been unfairly caught in the crosshairs with the remark.

One said: “The way people disrespect.”

Another added: “This is unfair.”

And a third replied: “Maguire catching stray bullets every time 😭😭😭😹😹😹.”

Despite Liverpool’s win over Spurs, it will take a huge turnaround for them to catch Man Utd in the race for fourth place.

Klopp’s side are seven points adrift of Erik ten Hag’s men and have played one game more.

Next up for Liverpool is a home match against Fulham on Wednesday, before United go to Brighton on Thursday.
