CHELSEA have announced the squad numbers for the season and no one will be wearing the club’s cursed shirt.
Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk have both seen their numbers swapped while new signings such as Nicolas Jackson and Robert Sanchez have been handed their new numbers.
Fernandes has swapped the No.5 shirt for the No.8 taking the vacant number after Mateo Kovacic’s move to Manchester City.
However, Mudryk has ditched the No.15 shirt for the No.10 following Christian Pulisic’s exit to AC Milan.
The No.9 shirt has remained vacant as players are believed not to be keen on the number with the view that it is “cursed”.
Former manager Thomas Tuchel said that people tell him that it “was cursed” and that the players did not “want to touch it”.

The shirt was worn last season by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but he only managed one goal in 15 Premier League appearances.
The shirt number has been worn by seven other Blues strikers that have gone on to fail at the club, such as Alvaro Morata, Fernando Torres, Romelu Lukaku, Hernan Crespo, Gonzalo Higuain, Radamel Falcao and Mateja Kezman.
Meanwhile, defender Levi Colwill has been given the honour of taking the No.26 shirt that was once donned by club legend John Terry.
The Englishman was rewarded with a six-year contract after his impressive loan spell with Brighton last season.
