Chelsea owner Todd Boehly brutally mocked by fans of sister club Strasbourg just three months after takeover

STRASBOURG fans have brutally mocked Todd Boehly just three months after his takeover of the club.

The Chelsea owner’s BlueCo consortium completed their purchase of Strasbourg in June, making the French side the second club in their portfolio.

However, a Strasbourg supporters group have now slammed BlueCo in a letter to club president Marc Keller.

In the letter, the fans hit out at the spending and mismanagement at Chelsea.

“Money without competence doesn’t lead to anything good,” reads the statement.

“And the example of Chelsea, our so-called ‘big brother’, who have spent a lot of money but have had a vertical fall down the English hierarchy, is an important reference point: We don’t want to incompetence that reigns at Chelsea at RCSA. Neither directly, nor indirectly.”

The letter also criticised Strasbourg’s summer transfer business and the idea of multi-club models.

BlueCo acquired close to a 100% stake in the club in June and have promised to invest in the first-team and academy.

Supporters immediately protested against Boehly’s investment, though.

Former Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira was appointed shortly after the takeover, whilst teenage winger Angelo Gabriel signed on loan from Chelsea.

However, the club currently sit 11th in Ligue 1 and have won just one of their last five matches.

As for Chelsea, the Blues have spent over £1billion since Boehly and BlueCo’s takeover.

Their transfer business could not prevent a 12th place finish last season, though, their lowest since 1994.

The club have also already had three permanent managers since the new owners came in, along with an interim and caretaker boss.

New manager Mauricio Pochettino has also suffered from a slow start this term, with Chelsea 11th in the Premier League and already six points adrift of the top four.

He has been boosted by back-to-back league wins against Fulham and Burnley, though.
