CHELSEA made an embarrassing gaffe during their game against Brighton.
It came as the screens around Stamford Bridge said Cody Gakpo was coming on as a Brighton substitute.
Gakpo, of course, plays his football for Liverpool, some 216 miles away from Brighton’s home ground.
In fact, Brighton were introducing Danny Welbeck from the bench to replace injured starlet Evan Ferguson.
The Seagulls fans at the ground saw the funny side of the error, particularly after Welbeck’s equaliser.
Following the sub they burst out into song, chanting: “Cody Gakpo, he’s one of our own.”

Fans online also rushed to share their thoughts, with one saying: “Yikes 😓.”
A second typed: “Thought I was going mad when that’s what I thought they were singing.”
A third joked: “‘If Gakpo scores, we’re on the pitch’ #bhafc #chebha.”
However, Brighton did not see the funny side after ANOTHER controversial VAR call went against them.

Roberto de Zerbi’s side were denied a first-half penalty by referee Robert Jones and VAR official Chris Kavanagh after Christian Pulisic appeared to handle the ball in the area.
Fortunately for the South Coast it made no difference as Welbeck’s climbing header equaliser was added to by Julio Enciso’s screamer to secure a 2-1 win for the visitors.
It comes after Brighton were handed an apology by referee body PGMOL for an error against Tottenham last week.
VAR admitted they should have awarded a penalty when Karou Mitoma was brought down by Pierre Emile Hojbjerg in the penalty area.
