CHELSEA legend John Terry has revealed he used to rate hotel rooms during his time as club captain.
Terry, 42, was handed the captain’s armband at Stamford Bridge by Jose Mourinho in 2004 following the departure of Marcel Desailly.
He went on to lead the club to five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups and a Champions League title, making him one of the most successful players in Chelsea’s history.
During his time at Chelsea, Terry was loved by both fans and players for his leadership both on and off the pitch.
And this week he gave supporters an insight into what he used to do in order to get the best out of his team-mates on away days.
Taking to Instagram, the former defender revealed he used to rate and review the hotels the team stayed at based on comfort, cleanliness, food and distance to the stadium.

He wrote: “Just going through some old football bits, as Captain I used to keep a book on the hotels we stayed in.
“And rate them on various things from how comfortable the beds were or how good the food was, and how (close) it was to the stadium.
“But most importantly if we won when we stayed there I made sure we went back to that hotel the following year.”
The former England international added: “100 per cent record when we stayed at the Landmark (Hotel) for big finals.”

Chelsea fans took to social media to praise Terry for going “above and beyond” during his time at Stamford Bridge.
One person tweeted: “Now this is Proper Chels.”
Another added: “I just want a captain that does this sort of this stuff man. Like I don’t get why one of our players can’t step up and become the captain like JT. I know he’s one of a kind but even 80% of his leadership would make us a 5x better team.”
A third wrote: “John Terry was scary committed as a captain, he was Mr. Chelsea.”
While a fourth commented: “What a legend. This is what going above and beyond looks like. This is a level of dedication and leadership that I fear we are missing at the club today.”
Terry left Chelsea in 2017 to join Aston Villa on a free transfer.
He made 36 appearances for the Villans before retiring the following year and starting his career as a coach, joining Leicester last season as Dean Smith’s assistant.
