CHELSEA have ended their disappointing season with a Premier League trophy – of sorts.
The Blues finished 2022-23 in the bottom half of the Prem table for the first time since 1996, despite spending almost £600million on 16 new players.
They also failed to win a single piece of silverware in any of the cup competitions.
However, fans found something to celebrate this week when goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was awarded for making the save of the season.
The Spaniard was commended for his outstanding triple save against Aston Villa in October, which saw him stop three successive shots from John McGinn, Jacob Ramsey and Danny Ings respectively.
And Chelsea fans were left thrilled, with one person tweeting: “Am not going empty handed, worst season but we got something.”

Another added: “We are proud of it.
A third wrote: “Season wasn’t a total waste after all.”
A fourth commented: “Even in our most terrible season we still won something.”
While another joked: “We won more than Arsenal.”
