And the Ukrainian repeated the trick by getting off the mark for his nation on Tuesday night too.

But it was the quality of the strike which really made Blues fans sit up and pay attention.

The winger, who signed for Chelsea last January in a transfer which could reach £88million, was in action against Malta.

In the 85th minute of the game, Mudryk found picked up the ball on the left wing just inside the opposition’s half.

However, like a flash of lightning, he then darted past his marker and into open space.

Mudryk continued dribbling until he found himself just outside of the penalty area.

And with not a single Malta defender close to him, the attacker let loose with a thunderous shot which found its way into the top corner.

Reacting to the stunning goal, one fan said: “This goal is out of this world.”

Another said: “Just in time for Arsenal,” while a sixth added: “My boy will cook Arsenal.”

England beating Italy tonight means Ukraine have jumped the Euro 2020 winners into second in the group.

Ukraine and Italy’s respective qualifying fates could be decided on the final day of qualifying when the two nations face one another in Ukraine.

Mudryk’s sudden goal glut of two in four coincides with a return to form for the Blues.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won three games in a row.

Regardless, Premier League title chasers Arsenal will be a stiffer challenge than their recent run.
