CHELSEA are considering a shock reunion with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi after losing Wesley Fofana to a serious knee injury.
The Blue’s central defender has undergone surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and is set to miss most of the upcoming season.
Mauricio Pochettino has had hectic summer allowing several senior players to exit while focusing on strengthening the midfield.
However, the ex-Spurs manager may be forced into the market for a centre-back and it is claimed by The Guardian that Guehi is a key interest.
The 23-year-old will not come cheap though as Palace have put a hefty price tag of £60million on the player, according to reports.
Chelsea’s youth star left for The Eagles two years ago for £18m and made a great impression at Selhurst Park.

Guehi has gone on to break into the England squad as a result of his stunning performances in the Premier League last season.
However, for Pochettino the question lies in whether they react to Fofana’s injury and spend a huge sum on Guehi.
Fofana, who cost the Blues £70m last season, was in line to play with left-footed defenders Levi Colwill or Benoit Badiashile next season.
This leaves Pochettino with a decision to make, with Thiago Silva turning 39 in September and Trevoh Chalobah, who Inter Milan have shown an interest in, his other options.

Harry Maguire was considered an option but has reportedly now been ruled out.
Guehi, an under-18 Blues Treble-winner, would be a smart move as he came up through the club’s ranks and could would cover for Fofana’s injury.
His £60m valuation would also be less due to a future sell-on clause agreed with Palace two years ago, meaning the £18m originally spent on the defender would be taken off any agreed fee.
If Guehi makes a return to Stamford Bridge their back line could be entirely made up from the academy, with Colwill and Reece James.
