BURNLEY are keen to do a £15million deal with Marseille for their midfield destroyer Pape Gueye.
Boss Vincent Kompany’s scouts picked out the Senegal international as one who could boost their fight to beat the drop.
The French club will sell Gueye, 24, who wants to play in the Premier League — as we revealed last week.
Kompany hopes to be backed to bring in new players next month after a signing spree in the last window.
Gueye wants a second crack at the Premier League after his first ended without him kicking a ball.
He was signed by Watford from Le Havre three years ago.

But he left immediately for Marseille after being unhappy with his terms at the Hornets.
And there was also a dispute with Watford over who was his agent.
Now English clubs have again been alerted to his availability.
Gueye has played just once this season for Marseille and spent the second half of last term on loan at Sevilla.

But new Marseille boss Gennaro Gattuso does not fancy him.
And predecessor Marcelino also left Gueye out of his starting XI.
However, any move for the midfielder could be complicated by his international duties.
Gueye is a 17-time Senegal international and may be called up for their AFCON campaign in January.
