BRIGHTON transfer guru Sam Jewell is wanted by Rangers as their new director of football.
Jewell, 34, is the brains behind the signings of players like Moises Caicedo and Carlos Baleba for the Seagulls — and the Glasgow giants are keen on him to head their team.
It would look an ideal replacement for Ross Wilson, who quit for Nottingham Forest in April and left the Gers without an obvious replacement since.
Jewell could be tempted if the role is backed up by a budget that can turn round the fortunes of the Ibrox outfit.
However, head of recruitment Jewell has also fitted in well at Brighton, who are famed for their imaginative finds across the globe and that may be too much to walk away from.
Jewell has been chased by Premier League rivals before and stayed.

Brighton lost Dan Ashworth to Newcastle last year and Jewell moved up the ranks after that.
His eye for talent has made him a huge asset.
Meanwhile, sacked Rangers boss Michael Beale, 43, wants to return to QPR — but that could spark a huge fan backlash.

Beale is keen on a return to England and the Championship outfit is on his wishlist.
However, Beale left his post at the London club to go to Rangers and the supporters have already reacted badly to the possibility.
It would need a few bridges to be mended but Beale is a free agent and a realistic option as Gareth Ainsworth fights for his job.
