FORMER Newcastle star Jonas Gutierrez has secured his first job in management.
The 40-year-old is best remembered for his time with the Toon from 2008 to 2015.
Gutierrez was signed from Mallorca and went on to play 205 games for the club, scoring 12 goals.
The ex-midfielder has legendary status at St James’ Park after helping the club finish fifth 11 years ago and he netted against West Ham to help them avoid relegation in 2015.
Gutierrez was diagnosed with testicular cancer a year earlier and required surgery to have one removed.
He later won a disability discrimination lawsuit against Newcastle after claiming he was deliberately not selected following his cancer comeback so an appearance clause was not met.
