Bayern had taken the lead through Thomas Muller in the 16th minute.

But unlike on Saturday when a Kane hat-trick inspired an 8-0 win, the German giants took their foot off the gas and went into half-time level.

Manager Thomas Tuchel made several changes to his side and brought on the big guns in search of a winner, including Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala.

But Kane was mysteriously left on the bench and had to watch on as Saarbrucken snatched a winner.

Several Bayern stars reportedly ran straight down the tunnel with Musiala believed to have shouted “unbelievable” as he shook his head.

Bayern had 18 shots to their opponent’s four and a whopping 75 per cent possession, but the minnows who are 15th in Bundesliga 3 found a way to win.

Bayern are now out of the German Cup and fans joked Kane’s trophy curse has struck again.

One fan said: “Harry has taken his jinx to Germany.”

Another added: “You can take the boy out of the Spurs…”

A third wrote: “The Harry Kane effect 😢”

And another commented: “The Kane curse is real.”

A disappointed Tuchel said after the match: “We weren’t arrogant or took it lightly. There are 100 explanations or none. It feels strange.

“Everyone who says we have to win here is right. There’s no clever explanation, we are extremely disappointed.”
