Arsenal track ex-academy ace Yunus Musah for shock transfer return as star ‘now ready to move on from Valencia’

ARSENAL are tracking their ex-starlet Yunus Musah for a shock transfer return with the player allegedly “now ready to move on” from Valencia.

The 20-year-old American was allowed to leave the Gunners back in 2019 after seven years at the Hale End academy.

He departed North London to join Valencia where he has begun to impress for the Spanish outfit on a regular basis.

Born in New York, Musah played for England at every age group level up to U18.

He then declared for USA in 2020 and has won 25 caps for the Stars and Stripes.

Musah was also one of USA’s best-performers at the World Cup as they drew with Wales and England and beat Iran before being eliminated by Holland in the second round.

Now a host of clubs are plotting a transfer swoop for the midfielder this summer, with the Gunners among the frontrunners to snap him up.

Valencia knew interest was mounting in their star and attempted to tie him down to a new long-term deal, but no agreement has yet been reached.

90min are now reporting that Musah “is ready to move on from Valencia” and Arsenal have already been in “contact with the player’s representatives”.

However, Mikel Arteta faces stiff competition from elsewhere in the Premier League for his signature.

Chelsea and Liverpool have both been keeping tabs on him all season.

They have both also reportedly been in discussions with Musah’s representatives.

And both Newcastle and Brighton are also keen on bringing him back to England from Spain.

However, Musah also appears to have plenty of options from abroad.

Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg all could swoop to try and persuade him to head to Germany.

But Atletico Madrid are also allegedly interested in trying to get him to stay in LaLiga.

Musah is under contract until 2026, and it remains to be seen what asking price relegation-threatened Valencia place on his head, although he does have a release clause in his deal of £89m.
