FABIO VIEIRA was shown red for a horror challenge on Josh Brownhill.
Arsenal were leading Burnley 3-1 at the Emirates and in control when the midfielder was sent off on 83 minutes.
Vieira collided with Josh Brownhill in a challenge and after getting there second his knee-high studs-up challenge was reckless.
It left referee Michael Oliver with no choice but to send the Portuguese Under-21 international off.
Fans watching the game were left in disgust.
One said: “Horrific from Vieira. Red card doesn’t seem enough.”

One fumed: “The tackle was dangerous and unnecessary.”
Another said: “Fábio Vieira didn’t mean it, clearly. But it’s reckless nonetheless. Can’t complain about the red…”
Leandro Trossard had opened the scoring just before half time but it was Brownhill who levelled on 54 minutes.

Although just moments later, William Saliba restored Arsenal’s lead before Oleksandr Zinchenko wrapped up the points.
Speaking on BBC, former Man City defender Nedum Onuoha said: “It’s a bad challenge from Fabio Vieira.
“There is no intent there as such but he is endangering the opponent. It is hurting me just looking back at it on the replay.
“It will be interesting to see what Mikel Arteta makes of that one after the game.”
Arteta said: “The red card. VAR was right. The referee was right. Really positive from Mikel. Good decision.”
