AARON RAMSEY has held talks with Cardiff over a sensational return to his boyhood club.
The Wales captain, 32, is a free agent having turned down the chance to stay at French side Nice.
Ramsey said last month he would love to rejoin Cardiff one day after starting his career with the Bluebirds before leaving as a 17-year-old for Arsenal in 2008.
The Championship club are keen on Ramsey but it is believed other clubs are interested in the 82-cap midfielder.
SunSport understands Ramsey and Wales would like the ex-Juventus and Rangers star to continue to play at the highest level possible.
But Ramsey has also cited his next move will centre around his family with his wife and three children settled in south Wales since he left Juve for Rangers in January 2022.

Nice announced Francesco Farioli, 34, as their new manager last week and replaces Didier Digard, who was head coach from January.
Ramsey is in his homeland at the moment and teased Bluebirds by keeping himself fit at the Vale of Glamorgan HQ – where both Cardiff and Wales are based.
Cardiff, now managed by new boss Erol Bulut, are under an EFL embargo that prevents them from paying fees in transfers, but would be able to sign Ramsey given his free agent status.
Bulut said: “I saw Ramsey play against Armenia. It was not a good game for the Welsh team.”

When pressed about Cardiff’s interest in Ramsey, the Turkish boss, who saw his side beat TNS 3-1 in a friendly on Tuesday night, remained coy.
Bulut added: “I don’t know about that (signing Ramsey) but quality players we want in the team.
“We are still searching for players who are free in the market, so I hope in the following days we can do it [signing players] quickly.
“I hope in the next week we can finalise a few transfers. We need more quality players in the attacking areas to create more chances and score goals. I know what we need.”
