The 22-year-old had only just made his return following a four-month layoff due to a groin issue that required surgery.

He made his first appearance in the FA cup victory over Oxford United as manager Mikel Arteta tried easing him back into playing again.

However, he has now pulled up in training with a thigh problem, according to the Evening Standard.

The issue is “not thought to be serious”, which will ease worries of fans and Arteta.

Smith Rowe recently opened up on his injury worries as he admitted that he had been playing with his groin issue for years.

He said: “A lot of people might not know, but I have had this injury since I was 18, 19.

“It has been quite hard to deal with it over the years. But I am really happy that it is just finally over. I had a successful surgery and I am really feeling really good.

“Obviously a lot of people might not know about that from over the years.

“But I am just happy to come out the other side fully fit… I am just going to kick on from here.

“It has been difficult being out for this long.

“I don’t think I have had this (long a lay-off) before and it has been tough watching the boys.”
