Verstappen started the race in pole position, but was clipped on the first turn by Sven-Ole Haase.

The incident meant Verstappen dropped down the field, leaving him furious and out for revenge.

The reigning world champion took it upon himself to seek vengeance by cutting a corner and slamming at full speed into Haase.

The collision took both cars off course and put a spanner in Haase’s chances of competing in the race.

Fans of the event weren’t pleased with the 25-year-old’s behaviour and took to Twitter to voice their opinions on it.

One fan wrote: “I swear you get banned from iRacing for things like this? Or will he get away with it because he’s Max Verstappen?”

Whilst another slammed Verstappen’s decision, they wrote: “This is like some 12-year-old behaviour. How is this coming from a world champion F1 driver?”

Another fan seemed to like the Dutch driver’s antics, writing: “Just became even more of a Verstappen fan.”
