Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz punch stats revealed with YouTube star throwing almost 100 more shots but being LESS accurate

THE long-awaited Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz bout has finally taken place, but all was not as it seemed when it came to the final result.

YouTuber turned boxer Paul defeated UFC star Diaz by unanimous decision in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, August 6.

But Paul’s win was not as clear cut as it might sound, especially when reflecting upon the final stats.

According to DAZN, through ten rounds Diaz threw 392 punches, landing 143 which amounts to 36 per cent accuracy.

By comparison, Paul threw 491 punches, landing 174 in total for just 35 per cent accuracy.

And fans on Twitter were left furious by this revelation.

“Last time u checked 36% is more than 35% so Nate got robbed,” one fan wrote.

Another said: “Landed a better %. Pressured 10x more. Jake ran the last 3 rounds. Jake held how much?

“Including when the ref kept trying to intervene and Jake wouldn’t let go.”

As a further added: “Nate has higher % therefore he wins.”

But not all were left furious, such as one who commented: “Nate was there to entertain .. he succeeded .. was fun to watch.”

And one person left ecstatic following the win was, of course, Paul himself.

Speaking to the media after his win, Paul admitted that “Nate was the toughest person I’ve fought yet.”

Describing Diaz as “an absolute warrior,” he heaped praise on his opponent while also stating: “He’s a dog and I walked the dog.”

And the two could face off again in the future, with Paul keen to take on Diaz in the octagon.

However, this doesn’t mean the 26-year-old doesn’t plan to box again, calling out Canelo Alvarez once again while also stating his goal remains to become the world champion.

Meanwhile, Diaz stated he was “100-percent” sure he would box again in the future.
