Anthony Joshua arrives at nightclub in style and has queue of fans lined up to greet him on way to VIP area

ANTHONY JOSHUA has been enjoying some well-earned downtime following his successful return to the ring.

AJ got back to winning ways last month with a scrappy points victory over Jermaine Franklin at the O2 Arena – although the victory did little to impress his critics.

As well as enjoying some much-needed R&R, the former two-time unified heavyweight champion has attended several Under Armour events over the last few weeks.

The latest one was held on Tuesday in Amsterdam, where AJ made sure to enjoy some of the city’s famed nightlife.

On Wednesday, the Watford warrior shared footage of himself and his pals entering a nightclub on his Instagram story.

Joshua donned an all-black outfit with a gold watch as he walked through the club to the VIP section.

Ever the man of the people, AJ happily greeted the revellers who recognised him and put their hands out to greet him.

The 33-year-old even took the time to fist-bump the two DJs spinning the records.

Joshua likened his entry to that of the late rapper DMX in the 1998 film ‘Belly’ – subsequently posting the scene to his story.

AJ is currently expected to return to the ring in December – and a blockbuster fight with long-time rival Deontay Wilder is in the works for the Brit.

And the Olympic gold medalist reckons their long-awaited grudge match is on the verge of being finalised.

In an interview with The Metro, AJ said of The Bronze Bomber: “He is good, I respect him.

“I don’t undermine him. That will make me raise my game.

“I respect what he has done and what he has done in this division.

“It is hard to become a champion and he did it so I have to respect that.

“It’s going to be a tough fight but I am confident in myself.

“I’m a better, more well-rounded athlete, a better, more well-rounded fighter.

“In terms of it getting delivered [from my side], I honestly believe it is 95 per cent there.”
