WOLVES are ready to trigger River Plate midfielder Enzo Fernandez’s £17million release clause.
Sources in Argentina say Wolves’ chief scout Mathew Hobbs has travelled to South America to try and push through a deal with River Plate chiefs for the 21-year-old.

Fernandez has scored eight goals and produced five assists in the Argentine Primera Division this year.

If Wolves win the race for Fernandez it could pave the way for Ruben Neves to move to Barcelona.
Meanwhile former Liverpool defender Ki-Jana Hoever could also be sold to raise funds.
The Dutchman only made six starts for Lage last season and was regularly an unused substitute towards the back end of the season.
Wolves are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the player who cost them £9million when he arrived from Anfield in 2020 on a five-year-deal.
Lage and Hoever are rumoured to have a difficult relationship after the manager blamed his lack of preparation for why he got injured.
Additionally, Wolves have added Rhys Carr to their coaching staff one week after the highly-rated Welshman resigned from his role at Bristol Rovers.
