WEST HAM fans were left fuming after ex-Irons defender Issa Diop injured Gianluca Scamacca after just 12 minutes in a friendly with Fulham.
A late tackle from Diop forced Scamacca off at Craven Cottage before Flynn Downes replaced him.
It is a major blow to West Ham’s prospects in attack, with Michail Antonio not being named in the squad due to muscle strain.
One wrote on Twitter: “Pure and utter reject. Don’t know why the f*** he’s gone in on Scamacca like that in a friendly. Useless.
“No Antonio in the squad through injury today either.”
Another added: “Ex West Ham defender Issa Diop has just stupidly injured West Ham’s £45m Italian striker Scamacca in a mid-season friendly. What is even the point anymore?”

A third said: “Hahahahahaha Antonio and Scamacca down you can’t write this.”
A fourth unhappy Hammer said: “Sometimes I feel like we’re the only club that get injuries during crucial stages of the season….”
Fulham fans felt justice was served after Scamacca scored a controversial goal which they deemed a handball when David Moyes’ side beat them 3-1 in October.
A Whites fan said: “If we’ve ended up nobbling Scamacca after he scored that handball goal against us.”
