JOE HART has been a terrific signing for the Hoops since he joined last summer.
And he’s often the man who Celtic can rely on at the back even if the defence is having a shaky day at the office.
But the former England international showed tonight that he isn’t always perfect as he had a moment he will want to forget against Rapid Vienna in the club’s second pre-season fixture in Austria.
Celtic got off to a winning start against the fellow green and white side as Matt O’Riley fired the Hoops in front after just nine minutes with a sweet strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
And after pulling off a fantastic save to deny their opponents just ten minutes later, it was Hart who then gifted Rapid with the equaliser on the half hour mark.
But he wasn’t the only one at fault as young defender Osaze Urhoghide put the veteran stopper in a tricky situation with a soft backpass to the keeper.
Hart was slow to react though and it allowed 20-year-old striker Bernhard Zimmerman to swoop in and place the ball into the back of the net with ease.
It wasn’t the sight that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou would have wanted to see, with the Hoops defence regularly receiving criticism in the last couple of seasons.
He will hope that it was just a one-off though as they look to iron out their mistakes before the start of the new season.
Celtic will enter the Champions League group stages for the first time since the 2016/17 season after winning the Premiership title last season.
