USAIN BOLT led fury from Manchester United fans as Marcus Rashford had a goal ruled out for an innocuous handball – hours after West Ham were allowed TWO GOALS following more obvious handling.
Social media erupted with bemusement when VAR disallowed Rashford’s strike in Sunday night’s 2-1 win at Everton.
Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio had earlier profited from clearer offences as West Ham beat Fulham 3-1.
Fans blasted the inconsistencies as a “disgrace” and pundit Gary Lineker tweeted to blame a “silly silly” new law.
Sprint legend Bolt, whose dream was to play for United, posted: “How is that a handball.”
Rules state a goal must be disallowed if the scorer handles – even if accidentally.

And ex-England striker Lineker joined the online debate by stating: “Rashford goal ruled out by VAR for a completely inadvertent handball. Silly, silly law.”
One armchair viewer added to the ridicule by pointing out: “Antonio handles the ball purposely and Rashford didn’t but Antonio goal was given, Rashford goal ruled out.”
And another observer commented: “If Rashford passed the ball instead of scoring directly, the goal would stand.
“The handball rule is constantly tweaked and re-tweaked. It will never be perfect. But this current definition leads to absurd decisions like that.”

Antonio’s goal – where he nudged the ball into his path with his palm – appeared particularly controversial.
But it was Scamacca’s earlier strike that sparked a lengthy VAR review over his handling.
One fan posted: “This is why people have problems with VAR and the interpretation of the rules.
“The exact same thing happened with Scamacca earlier where it bounced onto his arm and was allowed but they’ve disallowed Rashford’s goal for it.”
And the general view was summed up by this tweet: “Antonio scored and it was counted as a goal but Rashford’s goal was cancelled for handball?? A JOKE!”
