Chelsea are the Premier League’s highest spenders, having splashed out £255.3million on new arrivals this summer including deadline day deals for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria.

However, the data collected by sports betting app SBK indicates Chelsea are the least likely team from England to win the trophy.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have been given odds of 19/1, worse than Man City’s 14/5, Liverpool’s 6/1 and even Tottenham Hotspur’s 18/1.

It goes without saying Chelsea have started the season poorly, with another lacklustre defeat against Southampton meaning they have collected just seven points from their first five league games.

European counterparts Paris Saint-Germain could have something to say about it as well though, with the Parisians second favourites to win the competition.

It has been a big summer of change for them, with seven players brought in to bolster their ranks and a great deal more shipped out either on loan or via transfer.

Last year’s champions Real Madrid are not predicted to repeat their feat and win title number 15 – with the loss of Casemiro to Manchester United set to detrimentally impact them – as they sit below Bayern Munich for fifth and fourth respectively.

A rejuvenated Barcelona are also not predicted to make any waves this year, ranking below every English team with odds of 20/1.

Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and both Milan clubs are the only other outfits whose odds do not eclipse 100.

Scottish Champions Celtic are predicted to come third in their group, while Rangers are predicted to finish bottom of Group A despite their heroics against PSV.

In fact, every English team is expected to win their group according to the supercomputer’s calculations.

The first games for this year’s Champions League will kick off next Tuesday, with Chelsea one of two early kick-offs and Manchester City kicking off with a visit to La Liga outfit Sevilla.
