RIO FERDINAND shared his take on Erling Haaland’s outrageous early season form.
Haaland, 22, has already hit 20 goals this season and has accompanied this with a trio of Premier League hat-tricks.
The Norwegian had his doubters before travelling to England, with some believing the tougher English top flight would not make Haaland as big a success story as he has been overseas.
However, Ferdinand who was one such doubter, has admitted Haaland’s exploits have been “stupid.”
Speaking on BT Sport, the Manchester United legend said: “No one knew what he would do.
“I am a big enough man to admit this guy is doing different bits now, it’s unheard of. It’s stupid really.”

“It is like a Sunday League player overage, he is doing it in the PL. People said he was only doing it in Germany.
“I was only concerned about one thing (coming here) and that was can score the type of goals (for City).
“When you look at his showreel a lot of his goals were running onto things, on the break and in transitions.
“At City they have possession all the time, teams are sat back. So it’s about finding the gaps but his instinct and understanding of the game – he said do not question me ever again.”
