  • David Moyes on West Ham’s adventure

The Scot is quietly confident his side can spring an upset, but knows the power Sevilla have had over this competition in recent years.

“The group we have are capable. There are times this season where it does not matter who we play, we will get a win. I see this as a great game for us.

“Sevilla have a really good history in the competition. It is two legs – we have this one and we are looking forward to the London Stadium next week.

“You want to play in Europe. It is the elite to challenge yourself against.

“I want to be a new West Ham that qualifies for Europe and challenges the top teams. This time last year I thought Europe was a possibility. Prior to that we were avoiding relegation.

“That was the job. We have become a team challenging for Europe. We have moved a big amount in a short time. Tomorrow is a different level.”

  • Good evening!

Hello and welcome to SunSport’s live coverage of Sevilla vs West Ham in the Europa League!

Yes you read that right, West Ham are in the knockout stages of European competition. And they stand a good chance too.

Sevilla are the Europa League merchants of the 21st century, but they can’t keep picking up second-rate European trophies willy nilly.

In step West Ham, who, under David Moyes, have been a force in the Prermier League over the past two seasons.

And their group stages campaign this season went rather swimmingly too. Tonight they’ll take on a step up in class in Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

So buckle yourselves in, we should be in for an early evening cracker.
