The result saw the Gunners’ lead at the top of the table cut to one point over the course of the weekend.

Meanwhile, United remain one point outside the top four by one point thanks to Brighton’s 5-2 thumping of Leicester.

However, ex-captain Keane is feeling optimistic about Erik ten Hag’s chances of getting United back into the Champions League after their fourth win in a row.

Asked who would finish higher out of the Red Devils and the Gunners come the end of the season, Keane said: “United. I think United will search for the top four.

“I think they’ve got a settled group now. New manager settling in. United for me.”

But former right-back Neville was not so confident about United’s chances.

He added: “I think City, Liverpool and Tottenham will finish in the top three.

“I think United will struggle to get into the top four, personally.”

But former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – who quit as Burton boss this morning – sided with Keane.

He concluded: “I think United will. They’ll find a way of playing.

“They can’t keep on playing the whole season like this. They need to improve.

“But I think they will get above Arsenal.

“I think Chelsea will be in the top four… with Man United, Manchester City and Liverpool. Tottenham don’t.”
