ERLING HAALAND says he could have played for England had dad Alfie stayed longer in the Premier League.
The Manchester City star was born in Leeds and then lived in Manchester before heading back to Norway when his old man’s career was winding up.
But Haaland Jr, 22, insists he has always felt Norwegian.
The £51.4million strike ace said: “It’s always a pleasure for me to play for my national team and also a proud moment. I lived in England for three-and-a-half or four years and I lived in Norway for a long time so it was natural to choose them.
“You never know how it would be if my father had stayed longer in England — then maybe I would be English.
“But I’m Norwegian and I’m proud of it.”

Haaland seems to have been breaking records since he walked through the door at City — but he also made one as a teen.
Calling himself ‘Lyng’ — a nickname that is “basically a lot of random things” — Haaland teamed up with two friends to form Flow Kingz and produced a song called Kygo.
Speaking on Goal’s Box to Box series, he said: “We made a really nice song. It’s quite popular now.
“We’ll see after my career if we should make some more.”

Meanwhile, Haaland’s team-mate Kalvin Phillips says Jack Grealish is a “joy to watch” on current form.
The pair were named in England’s World Cup squad yesterday.
Midfielder Phillips made his comeback from shoulder surgery against Chelsea on Wednesday.
He said: “Jack is training really hard, he’s not had the luck with goals and assists.
“But he brings a lot more to the team. When you see him play — and he plays like he did against Chelsea — it’s a joy to watch.”
